“Modernising Copyright”, the much awaited report of the Copyright Review Committee, was published on 29 October 2013 and is being officially launched today 9 December 2013. The report recommends the establishment of a Copyright Council of Ireland with a mandate for advocacy, education, management of collective licensing and alternative dispute resolution. Ireland named as “best country for business” by Forbes

Great news! Ireland has grabbed the top spot in the Forbes listing of the “best countries for business 2013”. Forbes measures countries using 11 different factors such as investor protection, tax burden and red tape and found that Ireland was the only one to rank in the top 15% of each. The article notes that Ireland’s well-educated, flexible and English-speaking workforce and accommodating tax system were the main draws for international investors. Deloitte recently published its Irish Information Security and Cybercrime Survey 2013. The survey results will be of particular interest to insurers providing cyber insurance products and cyber extensions.
